Welcome! This Privacy Policy explains how the Board of Montréal Museums, a non-profit organization headquartered at 333 Peel Street, Montréal, Québec H3C 3R9 Canada, collects, uses, discloses and otherwise uses your personal information when you visit and use the https://app.museesmontreal.org website and mobile application (collectively, the "Platform"), and purchase products on the Platform, as a Platform visitor, service user or purchaser (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy also applies to Montréal Museums' privacy practices with respect to personal information it collects offline, such as by telephone or text message. How Montréal Museums collects your information and what information is collected
Personal Information: In order to provide you with registration, use, purchase and transaction page services, and process your transactions and enhance your experience with Montréal Museums Services and the Platform, we must collect certain personal information about you. This information includes names, addresses, e-mail addresses, telephone numbers, credit card information, account numbers and other similar information.
Other Communications: We may also seek your feedback on your experience using the Services and the Platform. If you communicate with our representatives by telephone, the conversation may be recorded for purposes of evaluating the quality of the Services or protecting both parties in the event of a dispute.
Cookies: We use "cookies" to personalize the Platform for returning visitors. These cookies remain on your computer and are automatically recovered during your subsequent visits to the Platform. These cookies only contain information on the type of customer and the pages frequently visited. No other information is stored in the cookies. You can deactivate cookies on your computer. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Platform for the user, and visitors who have disabled cookie processing will not be able to use our personalized account management feature.
Web Access Logs: We also maintain standard web access logs, which record data on all visitors to transactional pages. These logs may contain : i) the Internet domain from which you access the Platform; ii) your IP address (when you are on the Internet, your computer is automatically assigned an IP address, which is either static or dynamic; a static IP address can identify you, whereas a dynamic address generally does not); iii) the type of browser and operating system you are using; iv) the date and time of your visit to the site; v) the pages you visited on the Platform; and vi) the address of the websites from which you linked to the site.
Children: The Platform is not intended for children, and we do not encourage children to provide us with personal information. Should we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under the age of 16, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe that we may hold information about a child under the age of 16, please notify us at cmm@museesmontreal.org. We adhere to the guidelines and regulatory requirements set out in applicable laws.
Information and personal data are disclosed to third parties, including the Montréal museums and other service providers, strictly on a need-to-know basis for the purposes of providing the Services, access to the Montréal museums following the purchase of products, the operation of the Platform and in compliance with applicable laws. Information and personal data are communicated in a secure manner and only to the persons concerned. For example, the fact of purchasing a right of access to a museum is disclosed to that museum following the completion of the transaction.
How Montréal Museums may use my personal information for other purposes
Montréal Museums may also use and share your personal information for the following purposes:
• Administering and making the Platform and Services available to you;
• Generate statistics, collect information, measure the Platform's activities and detect and prevent security threats;
• To help us develop and market our brand image, Services, promotions and advertising;
• Communicate with you, including our members, about our services, events, promotions, special offers and other news concerning Montréal Museums and the Montréal museums;
• Communicate with you regarding our technical notices, updates, security alerts and support;
• Respond to your requests, complaints, comments and questions; and
• Any other purposes that we identify from time to time.
Targeted Advertising
This section informs you about Montréal Museums online advertising practices.
As mentioned above, we use "cookies" and other similar monitoring technologies (including manuscripts, web bugs, graphic images and web beacons) on the Platform. Cookies are small text files that your browser installs on your computer or other device that allow the Website to recognize you during your visit. What is interest-based advertising?
Montréal Museums uses several tools, including interest-based advertising services, to help us and our marketing partners customize advertising to what we believe is most useful and relevant to you. We tailor and personalize these ads to your interests based on information from your activities, such as the actions you take when you visit the Platform, or when you visit websites that display Montréal Museums' ads.
What is Adapted Social Media Advertising?
Montréal Museums works with third-party social media platforms, such as Facebook, to display tailored advertisements. To offer such ads, we may convert your email address, phone number or other contact information provided by you into a unique value to be linked to your social media profile by our partners, such as Facebook or other social media platforms. While Montréal Museums does not provide personal information to these platforms, they may earn information about the individuals who respond to the advertisements we post. What are my choices regarding targeted advertising?
You can choose whether or not to accept the use of certain cookies, as well as interest-based advertising.
Cookies. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies; however, the "help" function at the top of the taskbar on most browsers will tell you how to stop accepting cookies and how to disable existing cookies.
Interest-based advertising. If you do not want to receive interest-based advertising on other websites or would like to elect with respect to third-party ad networks that provide interest-based advertising to you, please see the options below.

If you unsubscribe, you may still receive online advertising from Montréal Museums or other websites or applications. However, these ads will not be displayed based on your interests.
Adapted social media advertising. To unsubscribe from customized social media ads, adjust your social media settings (for example, you can manage your settings through your Facebook profile), or use the links provided in the ad itself.

Information management and exchange
Your personal information will not be disclosed to third parties other than in accordance with this Privacy Policy, except as required or permitted by law, or as ordered by a court of competent jurisdiction.
We may share the information collected with our service providers in order to provide applicable services, including for the purposes set out below.
If you have subscribed to a customer loyalty program, your personal information may be used by Montréal Museums to promote its Services in a targeted manner. Only authorized staff members of Montréal Museums and our service providers who have a genuine need to know such information in order to perform their duties will have access to the file containing your personal information. Your personal information will be held at our offices and on our servers or those of our service providers, which may be located in a jurisdiction outside of Canada and may therefore be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction.
We may also share this information with third parties in connection with the sale or transfer of our business or for audit purposes.
We may share with third parties certain non-personally identifiable information and non-personally identifiable group information, such as the number of customers located in a certain geographic area.
Your personal information is retained for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected or to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations. Information is destroyed when it is no longer required. When we destroy documents and data, we follow strict procedures and ensure that only authorized personnel have access to the documents and data.
Information hosting
All personal information will be kept confidential in accordance with applicable federal and provincial legislation (including Québec legislation) regarding the protection of personal information and privacy. Montréal Museums takes reasonable administrative, technical and physical measures to protect your information from loss, theft and unauthorized access, use, modification and destruction.
To the extent provided by such laws, you have the right to access and request correction of your personal information if the personal information is out of date, inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous, or if the collection, disclosure or retention of the information is not authorized by law. We ask for your cooperation in notifying us of any changes to your personal information. In addition, if you identify any errors or inaccuracies, please inform us and we will make the necessary corrections.
